Academic Diplomacy with Humanity G.O.A.L.S. & Vision

Inspired and guided by the richness of the Olympic World Cultural Heritage as a peacebuilding and social innovation platform, we have established a number of ventures and a world-wide action plan for global community regeneration and engagement across agencies. Our most recent initiative, Humanity G.O.A.L.S., a 2020 venture with a 2040 vision, aims to connect 2028 Los Angeles, Tokyo 2020, Paris 2024 and Brisbane 2032 Games with past and future Olympiads, to advance a worldwide academic ecosystem committed to institutionalizing Humanity in Action teaching, research and programming across the globe.

The Humanity G.O.A.L.S. were launched in Ancient Olympia during the 2020 Games Lighting ceremony as part of our O4H Sustainable Academic Innovation Legacy (S.A.I.L.) venture, with the aim to provide ongoing capacity building to educators, community agencies, professors and students, journalists, foreign affairs agents, policymakers and CSR officers across continents who wish to serve as Peace and Democracy Champions of Change, addressing the challenges of the 21st Century. Sustainable Academic Innovation Legacy

Preserving Virtues and Heritage Lost in Time & Translation

O4H Treasure Hunt & Relay with HOPE & PRAXIS

The first step of this initiative was the implementation of Olympism for Humanity Heritage Preservation Program, a ten-day-long training session (HOPE & Praxis) that took place in Greece in March 2020 during the first days of the global pandemic. Participants of this first step were selected graduate students and key stakeholders who work with underserved youth, refugees and in regions with a long history of natural disaster recovery or conflict.

The 2020 HOPE Relay took take place in Ancient Olympia, Delphi, Macedonia and Athens during the Tokyo Games Lighting Ceremony during March 10-22, 2020. This learning experience led by international MA students from Tsukuba International Academy for Sport Studies, a Tokyo 2020 Academic Legacy project- mentored by the O4HA founder and Director Dr. Alexis Lyras and supported by Olympism for Humanity Allies (O4HA) from Greece and across continents. The program took place in Ancient Olympia during the 2020 Games Lighting ceremony and initially included a yearlong World HOPE Relay, as well as Olympism in Action Programming and Symposia in Japan throughout the Olympic year 2020 followed by the inauguration of this program in Greece and Japan in 2021, as a window of opportunity into the future.

Due to the global pandemic, all our activities were postponed until October 25, 2022, a date that was marked with the official launch of our new CIED-O4H Georgetown University’s Olympism in Action Champions of Change Certificate Program as part of our Olympism for Humanity in Action Symposium. The event was dedicated to our beloved Olympic Champion of Change and Humanity- Dinos Michaelides (click here for more info).
